Recipe : Apple pie caramelised with lavender honey
This recipe of apple pie caramelised with lavender honey will delight your entire family.
Ingredient list :
- 1 puff pastry
- 6 apples
- 3 tablespoons of mountain lavender honey
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 25g of butter
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Peel apples and cut 3 apples into small cubes. Slice the others in quartiers.
Melt butter in a pan and add the apples cut into small cubes.
Cook for 3 minutes while adding the brown sugar.
Add the lavender honey, cover the pan and melt over low heat during 5 minutes.
When the apples are melted, mash them in a mixing bowl to make a compote and place it into the fridge.
In the pan, add butter and put the apple slices. Add brown sugar and the lavender honey. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes until apples are caramelised. (Do not hesitate to add butter to caramelise).
Roll out the dough in a pie plate and make small holes with a fork.
Add the compote and the apple slices. Then, fold the edges of the puff pastry.
Bake during 15 minutes keeping an eye on the progress.
